Why Our community is Important
Research has demonstrated that young children’s minds are very receptive to math and logic and that early mathematics skills are the strongest predictor of future academic achievement.
Many STEM programs do not offer a diverse representation of STEM stories, professionals, or content. Our content puts diverse faces and cultures at the forefront of science conversations and curricula. We empower all kids to reach for the stars! Need more here

Meet
Tondalaya
Founder/CEO
Tondalaya “Tee” Takapu is an 18 year Air Force Veteran and Cybersecurity expert. As a child, she wanted to be a teacher but she decided to join the Air Force instead. Her passion for educating never went away so she tutored elementary children in the local community wherever she was stationed including Florida, South Carolina, Japan, and Washington, D.C. Once she had her own children she noticed that there were not as many STEM programs in marginalized communities as there were in areas with more resources. She decided instead of moving to a community that had resources, she would bring the resources to her own community.

How is this hands-on?We conduct each lab via the Zoom video conferencing app. Students will watch live demonstrations and follow along with their own supplies and instructions. Each lab introduces a new hands-on experiment or project. Parents will also receive the lesson plans, project instructions, supply list, and student activity sheets that accompany each lesson.

Does my child to be on a computer or smart device?Yes, your child will need access to a smart device or computer to participate. We suggest using the app to videoconference in on the call as opposed to dialing in using a cellphone. Each session is recorded. You are welcome to turn your camera off if you do not want to be recorded.

How often are the labs?Labs run for one full hour. Click here to view specific meeting times for upcoming labs!

What supplies will we need? Can I get them during quarantine?All of our labs use common household supplies (i.e. paper cups, plastic water bottles, straws, pencils, paper, etc) and things that can be purchased at a dollar store or grocery store during routine/essential shopping. The complete supply list can be found on the signup page.

How much does it cost?Prices vary per session! You only need to pay one fee per household, not per child. Discounts available for returning Lab Rascals and scholarship students. For More Info email us info@clublabrascals.com
